Evidence of formation of an amorphous magnesium silicate (AMS) phase during alkali activation of (Na-Mg) aluminosilicate glasses

چکیده

There is some ambiguity regarding the fate of Mg during alkali activation Mg-rich precursors within broader field activated materials (AAMs). The present work addresses this issue by studying reaction products in AAMs synthesized from (Na-Mg) aluminosilicate glasses. Here, instead magnesium silicate hydrate (M-S-H) phase, exclusively forms an amorphous (AMS) phase. Compared to M-S-H, AMS a more depolymerized which has not previously been well documented. formation seems be driven high charge density cation effectively stabilizes species. We also show that lack hydrotalcite-group phases due aluminum depletion zeolite formation. This highlights need consider existence phase Mg-containing AAMs, especially complex systems, where its identification may difficult.

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

COORDINATION AND LOCAL STRUCTURE OF MAGNESIUM IN SILICATE MINERALS AND GLASSES : Mg K . EDGE XANES STUDY

We present Mg K-edge XANES spectra of selected Mg-bearing oxide and silicate minerals with different coordination states of Mg. The Mg K-edge peak shifts to higher energy with increasing coordination, from talMg in spinel, to tslMg in grandidierite, to t61Mg in diopside and many other silicates, and to I8lMg in pyrope. The correlation between the energy of the Mg K-edge and Mg-O bond distance o...
